Modern campaigns are organized in a manner that prioritizes public opinion even more than in the past and highlights candidates mistakes. For instance in the past information was spread with physical documents and the spread of information was slow, meanwhile in today's technology filled races we see a quicker spread of information and at a speed that makes any mistake shareable to the public. To give a specific example a candidate is more open to attack ads and with new AI technology the attack ads can come at an unprecedented and at a quality that is harder to detect, where in the past attacks would have had to been verbally at a gathering or with commissioned political cartoons today we see things like AI deepfakes or generated images or even faster misinformation and black-ads. To summarize, political campaigns are subject to a harsher reality due to the ease of attack and ease to spread misinformation.
