|---|---|
| 1. What is the margin of error in this poll? Is Donald Trump within the margin of error? | It’s ±2.4 points, meaning that if Kamala was overestimated and Trump was underestimated then Trump could be leading |
| 1. Scroll down to the bottom, read about how the poll was conducted. What potential problems do you see with this poll? | - This poll uses phone polling meaning young people would be less likely to answer. |
Instructions: Look at his poll (LINK) and answer the following questions about it:
| 1. How is this poll, or data analysis, different from the poll from the New York Times that we looked at in the previous link? | This also says that Kamala will win but it uses more graphs and fancy imagery. |
|---|---|
| 1. Which source (The New York Times or 538) do you think is more valuable in predicting the election? Why? | To be completely honest my gut is telling me that 538 is using graphs and jargon to hide something; unlike the NYT they don’t display the question and rely more on “simulations” from unknown sources. So I trust the NYT more as they display their question. |
